Job Description

We are currently recruiting for our client a leading British dairy products company . Purpose of Job

  • To work as part of the facilities team, providing technical support for automation systems and processes related to safety issues and safety projects on site
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, supporting capital and site projects by providing technical expertise within a continuous improvement context

Principal Accountabilities

  • Demonstrate health and safety awareness, supporting the health and safety site strategy
  • Support all functions on site with an emphasis on site safety strategic objectives
  • Deliver relevant work streams and projects as a key part of the safety and engineering strategy
  • Support delivery of site safety risk reduction strategy
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement through engagement of site teams, providing feedback on suggestions and ideas

Knowledge & Experience Required

  • Recognised engineering qualification  with PLC experience and a control systems bias (Siemans, SCADA  or similar)
  • In depth knowledge of plant operations and processes including control systems and programmes
  • Have excellent analytical, planning & organising skills
  • High degree of computer literacy and ability to interrogate programmes, tracing errors and taking corrective actions
  • Strong analytical skills, with a strong diagnostic and problem solving ability
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Awareness and understanding of key legislative and safety requirements within the engineering field, such as electrical safety
  • Have IOSH qualification – preferred
  • Flexible and adaptable to the variety of tasks
  • The ability to work collaboratively with key stakeholders on delivery of site safety projects
  • The capacity to work independently as well as part of a team, engage and manage contractors and permit activities through use of the company permit system and conduct contractor audits
  • Will need to enjoy working in/out doors
  • A flexible approach to working hours
